Annie is an Aboriginal academic currently completing a PhD candidature at the University of Newcastle (UoN), New South Wales, Australia. Annie lectures sociology and Aboriginal studies at UoN in conjunction with her work as an Aboriginal community development consultant. As a consultant Annie works as part of an extended professional consultancy group that provides legal, economic, educational and cultural expertise in the development of community/corporate partnerships. Annie acts as the education consultant to meet the group’s ongoing development of best practice in promoting education and research as core components of successful business modeling. Currently the consultancy group is involved in a benchmark Aboriginal tourism development which involves equity partnership development between privatized Aboriginal business groups, government tourism authorities, Aboriginal employment enterprise, education providers and local Aboriginal community members within Darkinjung country or the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia.
