Global Ecotourism Conference 2007 (GEC07) - Success!

The inaugural Global Ecotourism Conference, held in Oslo, Norway, 14-16 May, was a great success, attended by some 450 participants representing around 70 countries, and produced many positive outcomes.

Why GEC07?

As the first major global conference on ecotourism since the UN’s International Year of Ecotourism in 2002, GEC07 aims to review and celebrate the achievements in the ecotourism field, as well as assessing challenges facing the industry. Read more

While Norway’s unique natural beauty attracts a large number of international visitors, and many Norwegian tourism businesses offer great nature-based activities, the potential of ecotourism has not yet been fully exploited in Norway. Read more
