The city of Oslo, winner of the 2003 European Sustainable City Awards, provides an appropriate stage for this landmark conference. We thank our host of the evening reception, Mayor Per Ditlev-Simonsen and the Oslo City Hall staff, for their generosity and for kindly opening the door of the beautiful Oslo Rådhus to welcome the Global Ecotourism Conference 2007 delegates.

About Oslo Rådhus:

This modern twin-towered landmark building was opened in 1950 to celebrate the city’s 950th anniversary. Its interior has colourful frescos and murals depicting daily life, Viking gods and Norwegian cultural figures. Many leading Norwegian painters and sculptors contributed to the decorations.
